The mother plant due to stress or the clone? James87 Active Member. Yes, and some people believe it is actually better than veg cuttings. Purportedly, once the clone roots, it will grow like crazy.
Also, if the plant has been getting low N and high P, it will help form roots faster. There is a name for this method but it escapes me at the moment.
Megacloning or something, can anybody remember? If you take shoots with small marble size buds as a clone and root it then veg it it is known as monster cropping the plants look strange but branch like crazy and you can get some really desirable results.
This is a picture from a clone that was taken from a two week flowering mother. View attachment BigBuddahCheese New Member. I prefer to take them weeks into flower without any pre-flowers or flowers. If not, you should. The humidity dome does help keep the moisture and humidity for your clones.
Cutting does poorly in cold places, so keep it in warm areas. The perfect temperature is at about 70 — 75oF oc. If the surrounding environment place is low in temperature, you can use a heater or a heating mat to keep the temperature in place. If you cannot provide the cloners with enough daylight, you need to give it some grow lights.
The rest 6 hours of darkness is essential because it is mostly the time when the roots form. If you grow with rockwool, and soils, you need to mist them daily. For water cloning method, be sure to check the water too if it is drained, contaminated and needs replacing. For cloning with machines, the misting is done automatically.
If the system gets too hot, you can get a timer and set misting intervals. In about 7 — 10 days, you can see the rooting. But other plants can take longer time, up to 3 weeks. You should trash it, and do another cloning. If making the clones in the rockwool cubes or cloning machines, you can immediately see the roots sprouting. But it gets a little harder when cloning with the soils because you cannot see inside of the pot.
No problems. You can check inside the soils after ten days or two weeks. A little trick is to let the soils dry a bit for easy checking and extraction into the new growing environment. You are using an out of date browser.

I have heard not to do this, just wondering what you all think. Same process as otherwise. Just expect a little funky growth at the onset single leaves. I've cloned 4 weeks deep into flowering before I think it took nearly a month until I saw roots emerging out the bottom of my rockwool cube.
You should also expect some yellowing and leaf necrosis along the way. I haven't done anything different from my usual cloning routine I just took a cut from a plant that was harvested and I had roots in 5 days. That being said the veg is taking forever. While all the others are now 12" tall that one is like 4" and growing only single bladed leaves. Typically The transition back to veg will stress them a lil and might make them stop active growth for a lil while, but I know a grower who always takes his cuts from flowering plants about 4 weeks in and by the time his flowering room finishes he has the cuts nicely vegged and ready to go I take cuts in flower all of the time.
I'll post some pics shortly:. To combat this, make sure you take a large number of clones so that at least one will take root and survive. You may want to put the clones inside of a humidity dome. These can be found at gardening centers or you can custom build one to meet your own needs. Be sure to ventilate the dome each day to avoid a mold infestation. The most important aspect of cloning is to give the cuttings enough oxygen. A propagation bubbler is perfect for doing just that.
Normal leaves will start to follow soon after. Applying some training might be wise during this stage. Simply tie down some of the tops to encourage an increase in branching. Adding a little heat underneath the clones will increase the rate of the rooting process substantially.
As the marijuana plant starts to grow, the amazing branching power of your flowering clone makes itself known. The great thing about this method is that you can avoid topping and fimming altogether because the flowering clone produces tons of new branches on its own. Many of the plants grown in SOG will certainly provide a bountiful harvest. When the clones go through vegetative state and enter flowering stage, they can give you even more clones.
The never-ending harvest is recycling at its most efficient. For anyone who needs to limit the amount of plants they have, this idea has significant merit. All in all, the effectiveness of this technique is largely due to the heavy branching produced by flowering clones that have reentered vegetative state. With some practice and patience, you can get some fantastic monster plants and a gargantuan monster harvest.
