Solvent is needed to both lubricate as well as activate the stickiness of the tape so that when dry, the tape will adhere to the inside of the grip.
We recommend using a generous amount of solvent to avoid the grip getting stuck halfway. Many club-builders allow the solvent to drip into a pan so they can re-use it again. Yes, you can! We sell tape solvent made by Brampton Technologies in all our grip kits. But you should know that this solvent is actually NOT the most effective liquid for re-gripping.
We use it and sell it here because it is the only one safe enough to meet all California environmental regulations where our company is based.
Bit of a weird one here, when I was fitted at AG they checked my grip size and suggested standard with two extra layers of tape, I'm curious as to how many additional layers you would need with standard grips before you crossed over onto mid size, Obviously it will vary on the thickness of tape used, but if we assumed all grip fitters used the standard thickness?

There is no extra charge for this grip. That is why I want to get it from their site. If I had to pay extra for this grip I would just buy a midsize one and get it installed somewhere else. Hope this adds a little more info to my situation. Thanks, Zack.
Wahoo June 28, I've heard 4. Have 'em put seven wraps on just to mess with the guy that has to install the grip. Gilly June 28, Joeyvee June 29, June 29, I dont use tape. At all on any club. No need. At all. Midsize or not. Awards, Achievements, and Accolades.
Local pro told me so and showed me how they compared. I had my dad's clubs regripped to midsize with standard size grips. Zack June 29, Thanks tws I've always done 3 for midsize. Just redid my driver with 3. Note: This thread is days old. Join the conversation You can post now and register later.
